Day 1Building a defensible corporate greenhouse-gas inventory
Module 1 — GHG accounting principles and inventory boundaries
- Relevance, completeness, consistency, transparency and accuracy
- Organisational boundaries and consolidation approaches
- Operational boundaries, base year and recalculation policy
Practical application: Set the boundary and base-year rules for a sample organisation.
Module 2 — Scope 1 and Scope 2 calculation
- Stationary combustion, mobile sources, refrigerants and process emissions
- Purchased electricity and location- versus market-based reporting
- Activity data, emission factors, units and global-warming potentials
Practical application: Calculate Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from source records.
Module 3 — Scope 3 screening and value-chain inventory
- Fifteen Scope 3 categories and relevance screening
- Supplier, spend, distance, fuel, waste and hybrid calculation methods
- Data-quality hierarchy, assumptions and supplier engagement
Practical application: Screen Scope 3 categories and calculate selected value-chain emissions.

Day 2Climate risk, scenario analysis and transition planning
Module 4 — Inventory controls, uncertainty and disclosure
- Data lineage, factor governance, estimates and uncertainty
- Quality checks, review, approval and recalculation
- GHG statement, intensity metrics and disclosure requirements
Practical application: Review and correct a flawed GHG inventory.
Module 5 — Physical and transition risk assessment
- Hazards, exposure, vulnerability and value-chain transmission
- Policy, market, technology, legal and reputation transition drivers
- Time horizons, likelihood, impact and ERM integration
Practical application: Develop a risk-rated climate register.
Module 6 — Scenario analysis, targets and transition plan
- Scenario selection, assumptions, pathways and resilience
- Current and anticipated financial effects
- Decarbonisation levers, targets, financed emissions and transition-plan governance
Practical application: Create a climate scenario response and prioritised transition roadmap.
